In his speech at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Board of Directors Meeting, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that the fight against profit-driven criminal organizations that threaten economic life will continue with determination.

Determined Fight Against Criminal Organizations

Emphasizing that the judiciary will continue its fight against profit-driven criminal organizations that threaten economic life, Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that they will stand against structures that hinder investment.

He stated that the fight against structures that use illegal means against those who produce, invest, and provide employment will continue.

Commercial Lawsuits and Structural Steps

Stating that the prolonged duration of commercial lawsuits is one of the major problems of the business world, Gürlek recalled that commercial courts in Istanbul have been gathered under a single roof.

He reminded that they attach great importance to the target duration practice in trials and that the estimated completion time of the case is determined through UYAP as soon as the lawsuit is filed.

Economic Independence and Legal Order

Pointing out that countries failing to create a strong economy and sustainable development model become vulnerable to external interventions, Gürlek regarded economic independence as a part of national independence.

He also noted that the Arbitration Department has been established, the capacity of regional courts of appeal has been increased, and the mediation system has been developed.
