New calculations for retirees' January raise in line with inflation data

Following the July and August inflation data, the initial increase rates for the January raise of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees have begun to take shape.

The first data in the six-month inflation process that will determine the raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in January have become clear, and potential salary figures have been calculated based on various economic expectations.

Two-Month Inflation Data

According to data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, July inflation was recorded at 1.78 percent, and August inflation at 1.84 percent.

As a result of these two months of realization, an inflation difference of 3.66 percent has already formed for retirees' January increase.

Central Bank Forecasts

The Central Bank's updating of its year-end 2026 CPI forecast to 28 percent indicates that inflation in the second six-month period could realize around the 8.7 percent level.

If this rate is reflected, it is calculated that the lowest retiree salary could rise to 25,601 liras.

Market Participants Survey

According to the 29.43 percent year-end inflation forecast in the Central Bank Market Participants Survey, the raise rate for retiree salaries is projected to be 9.91 percent.

If this formula is implemented, the lowest retiree salary is expected to reach the level of 25,886 TL.

AA Finance and FKB Expectations

According to the 29.49 percent year-end forecast in the AA Finance expectation survey, the raise rate is calculated as 9.97 percent, and under this scenario, the lowest salary is projected to be 25,900 TL.

In the Financial Institutions Association's inflation expectation of 30.47 percent, it is calculated that the raise rate will rise to 10.8 percent and the lowest salary will approach 26,096 TL.
