New Cooperation Protocol Signed Between Turkish Airlines and Zero Waste Foundation
Turkish Airlines has signed a protocol covering environmental studies with the Zero Waste Foundation while continuing Boeing engine negotiations.
Turkish Airlines and the Zero Waste Foundation have signed a cooperation protocol covering joint efforts in the field of sustainability. Speaking after the signing ceremony, Turkish Airlines General Manager Ahmet Olmuştur stated that engine negotiations with Boeing are ongoing and that they are trying to balance fuel costs.
New Protocol with Zero Waste Foundation
A cooperation protocol has been signed between Turkish Airlines and the Zero Waste Foundation, covering joint efforts in the fields of zero waste, circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainable aviation, reduction of carbon footprint, and combating climate change.
Sustainability and Energy Targets
Turkish Airlines General Manager Ahmet Olmuştur stated that long-standing efforts will be carried further with this agreement. In line with the targets for waste segregation, the use of sustainable aviation fuel, and renewable energy, it was stated that the aim is to provide 18.5 percent of energy consumption in campuses from renewable sources.
Engine Negotiations for Boeing Aircraft
Ahmet Olmuştur conveyed that engine negotiations are ongoing to finalize Turkish Airlines' order agreement with Boeing covering up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, and that this process will be concluded soon.
Jet Fuel Costs and New Targets
Touching upon the impact of regional developments on price increases in jet fuels, Olmuştur noted that they are trying to balance these increases with a flexible business model. He also stated that they hope for a stable world for 2027, plan to open new routes, and aim to become the first Turkish brand to enter the top 100 most valuable brands in the world.
