New Layoff Plan at Porsche to Close Overhead Gap
As part of Volkswagen's transformation move, additional job cuts are foreseen for thousands of employees at the luxury automotive brand Porsche.
In line with German automotive giant Volkswagen's comprehensive transformation plan, approximately 4,100 more employees are planned to be laid off at its luxury segment brand Porsche.
Restructuring and Cut Plan
It is stated that the Volkswagen supervisory board recently reached an agreement to initiate the largest restructuring in the German automotive group's history.
The prepared files propose laying off thousands of people in order to close the approximately 700 million euro overhead gap at the brand.
Additional Cuts to Existing Agreements
According to information reflected in the press, these new layoffs will be carried out in addition to the agreements already in effect.
Previously, Porsche management and employee representatives had reached a consensus on a specific reduction in employment.
Total Scope at the Stuttgart-Based Manufacturer
Along with the steps taken in July, the total job cuts targeted by 2035 at the Stuttgart-based 911 manufacturer have reached a significant scale.
As a result of the implemented plans, it is stated that the total reduction in employment at the company will reach one in every five employees.
