In a statement to state television, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei stated that a new restricted zone will be established in the Gulf.
Rezaei emphasized that any ship entering this new restricted zone will be included in the sanctions list and entries into the zone will be prohibited.
Strait of Hormuz Maps
It was stated that the new Strait of Hormuz passage maps are expected to be approved and signed in the coming days together with Oman.
It was reported that an agreement has been reached on the maps of the new international corridor to be located in Iranian and Omani waters.

Following the ship attacks over the weekend, global oil prices continued their upward trend.
According to shipping data, transit passages through the Strait of Hormuz dropped to their lowest level since May.
