Number of Active Enterprises in Turkey Exceeded Four Million in 2025
According to 2025 data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of active enterprises across the country surpassed the 4 million mark, while total turnover reached a record level.
The Turkish Statistical Institute published the annual industry and service statistics for 2025. Accordingly, the number of active enterprises across Turkey was recorded as 4,016,059, while the total turnover reached 124 trillion 816 billion Turkish Lira.
Number of Enterprises and Sectoral Distribution
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of active enterprises was 4,016,059 in 2025. The trade sector ranked first in turnover with a share of 46.8 percent.
Turnover and Employment Shares of Sectors
The turnover share of the service sector, which has the highest number of enterprises and the highest employment share, was measured at 17.8 percent. The turnover share of the industry sector was 28.5 percent.
Distribution of Production Values
The 2025 production value was 27 trillion 886 billion TL in manufacturing, 9 trillion 134 billion TL in trade, and 7 trillion 976 billion TL in construction. It was recorded as 6 trillion 801 billion TL in transportation and storage, and 4 trillion 422 billion TL in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning production and distribution.
Turnover Distribution by Employee Groups
The size group with 250 or more employees accounted for 34.3 percent of the turnover share. The group with 1-9 employees provided 25.8 percent, while the remaining shares were distributed among other groups.
Employment Data and Distribution
Total employment in 2025 was recorded as 20 million 122 thousand 817 people. The size group with 1-9 employees accounted for 36.4 percent of employment, and the group with 250 or more employees accounted for 27 percent.
General Financial Indicators
Throughout the year, turnover was 124 trillion 816 billion TL and production value was 71 trillion 351 billion TL. Value added at factor cost was calculated as 22 trillion 201 billion TL, while total purchases of goods and services amounted to 108 trillion 507 billion TL.
Technology Level and Manufacturing Industry
54.4 percent of enterprises in the manufacturing industry were engaged in low-technology activities. These enterprises represented 47.9 percent of employment and 35.8 percent of turnover.
