Importance of the Strait in Global Energy Trade

Before the war, nearly one-fifth of global oil and natural gas consumption shipments were carried out through this critical strait.

It is stated that the amount of oil transported through the strait has dropped to a quarter of normal levels due to restricted passages following the war.

Ongoing Supply Concerns in Markets

Despite positive developments regarding the Strait of Hormuz, supply security risks and uncertainties continue to exist in the energy market.

ANZ Senior Commodity Strategist Daniel Hynes emphasized that expectations are putting pressure on prices, but the risk of tightness persists.

Diplomatic Activity in the Middle East

The Prime Minister of Qatar is expected to visit Iran to restart diplomatic contacts to end the conflicts.

It is stated that significant disagreements still continue between the parties regarding the terms of a possible ceasefire.

Distillate Inventories and Diesel Supply Pressure

In addition to inventories falling to the lowest level recorded for this time of year, the pressure from the Russia-Ukraine War also continues.
