Oil Prices Exceed One Hundred Level Due to Crisis in the Middle East
Brent and WTI crude oil prices have risen above one hundred dollars after months due to supply disruptions originating from the Middle East, while experts evaluate new scenarios.
As escalating tension and supply disruptions in the Middle East impact the oil market, Brent and WTI closed the week above one hundred dollars after months. Experts state that depending on the conflict process in the region, prices could reach the peak level seen in April.
Weekly Changes and Closings in the Market
US West Texas Intermediate crude oil completed the week at one hundred point zero five dollars, recording a weekly gain of nine point thirty-seven percent. Brent oil closed at one hundred four point sixty-one dollars, registering an increase of eight point sixty-five percent on a weekly basis.
Supply Disruptions and Production Data
Daily crude oil production disruptions in the Middle East reached an average of six point seven million barrels in August. While global oil inventories have decreased by approximately four hundred million barrels since the beginning of the year, the US Energy Information Administration expects disruptions to continue in the final quarter.
Critical Transition Points and Risks
Within the scope of risks spreading beyond the Strait of Hormuz, tanker attacks and the targeting of energy facilities are closely monitored in the market. Developments in Yemen and shipping risks around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait also maintain their place on the agenda.
Expert Evaluations and the 126 Dollar Scenario
PVM Oil Associates analyst Tamas Varga stated that in the event of a decline in global and regional oil inventories, prices could retest the one hundred twenty-six dollar peak seen in April. Energy Aspects director Amrita Sen pointed out that a significant wave of increase could occur if China returns to purchases.
