OpenAI Expected to Face $278 Billion in Negative Cash Flow by 2030
Artificial intelligence startup OpenAI is poised to burn through massive amounts of cash over the next few years due to computing investments.
Based on company presentations, OpenAI projects it will face a total of $278 free cash flow deficit between 2026 and the end of 2030.
Expectation of Negative Cash Flow
In a private company presentation prepared by OpenAI, it was stated that negative free cash flow is expected to reach $278 billion in the period from 2026 to the end of 2030.
July Agreement
It was noted that these financial projections and figures were included in a private presentation regarding a computing agreement concluded in July.
Revenue Growth and Heavy Investments
The artificial intelligence company's revenues are projected to surge from $36 billion this year to $350 billion by 2030.
Despite this massive revenue growth expectation, the company anticipates that the cost of its heavy investments in computing power will far outweigh its earnings.
