President Erdoğan evaluates fund investigation with economic administration
At the critical summit, the state of the financial system was discussed, and it was stated that market-disrupting actions will be held accountable before the law.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan came together with his economic cabinet and managers of responsible institutions to discuss the fund investigation process and the latest situation in the financial system.
Critical Summit Concluded
The critical meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, where the fund investigation was addressed, lasted approximately 2.5 hours.
High-Level Participation Provided
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek participated in this important meeting. Additionally, the heads of Borsa İstanbul, the Capital Markets Board, and the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency took part in the summit.
No Systemic Risk Exists
Making statements after the Cabinet Meeting, President Erdoğan emphasized that the problem occurred in only a limited section of the fund market. Erdoğan stated that there is no risk spread across the general financial system.
Legal Process is Carried Out Meticulously
Pointing out that the foundations of the Turkish capital market are solid, Erdoğan stated that individuals identified as engaging in market-disrupting actions through funds will be held accountable before the law. It was stated that the liquidation process of the closed funds is being carried out meticulously.
