President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with representatives of the Turkish-American business world at the Türkevi in New York, USA, where he is attending the 81st UN General Assembly, which brings together leaders and high-level representatives of UN member countries.

Sharing a post on his social media account regarding the meeting, President Erdoğan thanked the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, business councils, and DEİK.
Stating that the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations is approaching, Erdoğan expressed his belief that the momentum gained with the USA will be sustained in the economic sphere and that the 100-billion-dollar trade volume target will be reached together in a short time.
Four Core Components of the Economic Program
Conveying that the economic program consists of four core components—price stability, fiscal discipline, sustainable external balance, and structural transformation—President Erdoğan said that progress has been made in these principles over the past year.
Noting that core goods inflation has fallen to its lowest level since 2020 and rental inflation to its lowest level in the last 4 years, Erdoğan stated that they project to complete the year with an inflation rate of around 28 percent.
Fiscal Discipline and Budget Targets
Stating that within the scope of fiscal discipline, the ratio of the budget deficit to national income is expected to be 3.1 percent, President Erdoğan expressed that the ratio of public debt to national income is below 22 percent.
Investments and Defense Industry Capacity
Mentioning structural transformation, green transformation, artificial intelligence, and digital infrastructure investments, Erdoğan drew attention to areas of cooperation with the USA such as energy, aviation, and investment packages implemented in April.
In addition, it was noted that the repositioning of supply chains, energy and trade corridors, the reconstruction period, and the defense industry, which produces at NATO standards, have reached a capacity that will contribute to supply security.
