President Erdoğan Speaks at the Opening of the New Legislative Year of the Turkish Grand National Assembly

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Opening Program of the 5th Legislative Year of the 28th Term of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, making evaluations regarding the economy, defense industry, and legislative activities.

Opening of the New Legislative Year

President Erdoğan delivered a speech at the Opening Program of the 5th Legislative Year of the 28th Term held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly and wished that the new legislative year would be auspicious. Emphasizing in his speech that the Turkish Grand National Assembly is the only parliament in the world to hold the title of veteran twice, Erdoğan touched upon the events of the night of July 15 and the work of the parliament.

Economy and Growth Data

Sharing Turkey's economic growth data, President Erdoğan announced that the country grew by 2.5 percent annually in the first half of 2026. Stating that the annualized national income exceeded 1.7 trillion dollars, Erdoğan expressed that exports also reached 280.3 billion dollars in August.

Defense and Earthquake Zone

Drawing attention to the increase in defense industry exports in his speech, Erdoğan also touched upon the efforts carried out regarding the completed residences and workplaces in the earthquake zone.
