Products with the highest price increases and decreases in August announced
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, the product with the highest price increase in August was international air passenger transport, while the biggest drop was in other fresh fruits.
According to consumer price data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the product with the highest price increase in August was international air passenger transport with 56.26 percent, while the product experiencing the biggest decline was recorded as other fresh fruits with 21.50 percent.
Items with the Highest Price Increases in August
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, on the basis of consumer prices, the highest price increase in August occurred in international air passenger transport with 56.26 percent.
This category was followed by religious services with a rate of 28.89 percent and higher education with 25.37 percent.
Changes in Egg and Fuel Prices
The price of eggs, which was among the products with the highest price increases in August, rose by 15.70 percent compared to the previous month.
During the same period, increases of 14.07 percent in diesel prices, 9.14 percent in gasoline, and 8.52 percent in domestic air passenger transport were observed.
Other Products Showing Increases
An increase of 8.46 percent was recorded in jewelry and wristwatches, and 8.08 percent in other fuels for personal transport vehicles.
In the self-drive rental of personal transport vehicles, a price increase of 7.70 percent was experienced in August.
Product Groups with the Greatest Price Decreases
The product group that declined the most in price in August was the other fresh fruits category with a 21.50 percent decrease.
Other fresh fruits were followed by fresh citrus fruits with 17.92 percent and fresh berry fruits with 12.78 percent.
Downward Trend in Vegetable Prices
The price drop in stone fruit and pome fruit fresh varieties was 10.10 percent.
While the price of fresh or chilled green legume vegetables fell by 8.84 percent, the decline in vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers was 7.16 percent.
Clothing and Personal Care Prices
A price decrease of 5.58 percent was recorded in women's and girls' clothing in August.
A decline of 4.96 percent was seen in other personal care appliances and products, 4.87 percent in women's shoes, and 4.16 percent in children's shoes.
