Rail Systems and Projects Determined in 2027-2029 Transportation Investments

Railway, maritime, airway, and highway projects will stand out in Turkey's transportation investments covering the period between 2027 and 2029. It was announced that emphasis will be placed on domestic and national production in the field of rail systems.
Main Objectives in the Transportation Sector
According to information obtained from the Public Investment Program Preparation Guide, alongside the completion of existing projects in the transportation sector, investments aimed at increasing capacity, safety, and efficiency will also be implemented.
Focus Will Be on Railway Projects
Efforts to complete the Mersin-Gaziantep, Ankara-İzmir, Bandırma-Bursa-Osmaneli, and Halkalı-Kapıkule projects in the railway sector will be continued with determination.
Maritime Investments Will Gain Momentum
Within the scope of maritime investments, the Eastern Mediterranean Main Container Port planned in the Yumurtalık region of Adana and the İyidere Logistics Port in Rize are among the prominent projects.
Airway and Flight Safety
In airway investments, repair and improvement works of runways, aprons, and taxiways will be prioritized in order to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of flight safety at existing airports.
Highway Safety and Traffic
On highways, various strategic investments will be carried out in order to eliminate bottlenecks in traffic flow and increase overall traffic safety.
Urban Rail System Criteria
Certain passenger demand criteria will be applied for tram, light rail system, and metro projects in urban public transportation.
