Real Sector Confidence Index reaches 102.5 in September

According to data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the seasonally adjusted confidence index recorded an increase while the annual PPI expectation dropped to 31 percent.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey shared the Economic Tendency Statistics and Real Sector Confidence Index data for September with the public. Accordingly, the seasonally adjusted index increased by 0.1 points in September.

Change in the Index and Survey Results

The results of the Economic Tendency Survey, prepared with the responses of 1,982 workplaces operating in the manufacturing industry by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, have been published.

The seasonally adjusted Real Sector Confidence Index rose to 102.5, experiencing a 0.1-point increase in September compared to the previous month.

Sub-items Affecting the Index

The general economic situation, total order quantity, and employment expectations for the coming period were influential in the increase of the index.

Export orders for the next three months, finished goods inventories, and capital expenditures were among the factors that had a downward impact on the index.

Decline in Annual PPI Expectation

As of the end of the next 12-month period, the annual producer price index expectation decreased by 0.2 points compared to the previous month, falling to 31 percent.

It was observed that upward expectations regarding average unit costs and selling prices for the next three months strengthened.
