The Syrian side and the visiting US economic delegation discussed investment, partnership, and cooperation opportunities in various provinces, primarily Deir ez-Zor and Latakia, during meetings held in Damascus.

Comprehensive Meetings Held in Damascus

Comprehensive talks were held on Tuesday, September 15, between the Syrian side and the visiting US economic delegation in Damascus. These meetings were realized within the framework of a series of ministerial meetings organized in Damascus by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates with the US delegation.

Reconstruction and Investment Plans for Deir ez-Zor

Deir ez-Zor Governor Ziyad Fawwaz Al-Ayish stated that work is ongoing on a project aimed at clearing the rubble in the province within the framework of the reconstruction plan. Al-Ayish conveyed that numerous international companies have been contacted to implement projects in the province.

Emphasizing that Deir ez-Zor has a broad investment potential, Governor Al-Ayish expressed that there are promising and significant investment opportunities in the energy, natural resources, and water sectors.

Latakia as an Economic, Logistic, and Touristic Gateway

Latakia Deputy Governor and Official in Charge of Governance and Investment Affairs Mohammed Hasnu drew attention to the province's character as an economic, logistic, and touristic gateway. Hasnu noted that investments are directed towards projects that will contribute to the improvement of services provided to citizens.

Touching upon Latakia's geographical diversity and agricultural capabilities, Hasnu stated that opportunities are offered for investing in the agro-industrial field and implementing tourism projects.
