While electricity generation from all sources in Turkey broke a period-based record with 274.6 TWh in the first three quarters of 2026, the share of renewable energy reached 60.3 percent of total production.

Production and Consumption Figures

According to data from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation Load Dispatch Information System, 274.6 TWh of electricity was generated from all sources across the country in the first three quarters of 2026, reaching the highest national production level of all time. During the same period, 271.8 TWh of electricity was consumed nationwide.

Share of Hydroelectric and Wind

Between January and September, hydroelectric power plants broke a periodic record by generating 83.2 TWh of electricity, while hydraulic sources met 30.3 percent of national production. Generation from wind and solar energy sources stood at the 68.6 TWh level.

Peak of Renewable Energy

Total renewable energy production reached 165.6 TWh, accounting for 60.3 percent of total production and being recorded as the all-time peak in this field. Natural gas-based generation, on the other hand, saw its lowest periodic levels at 30.5 TWh.

Installed Capacity Developments

As of the end of September, Turkey's total installed electricity capacity exceeded 127.2 GW, clearly documenting this transformation in the energy sector with data.
