Sanliurfa Cultural Days Begin in Baku

Organized in Baku in partnership with the Yunus Emre Institute, TÜİB, and the Sanliurfa Metropolitan Municipality, the Sanliurfa Cultural Days were brought to life with comprehensive programs aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries.

High Participation in the Event

The Sanliurfa Cultural Days event was organized in Baku in cooperation with the Yunus Emre Institute, the Turkey-Azerbaijan Businessmen and Industrialists Union, and the Sanliurfa Metropolitan Municipality.

The program was attended by YEE Vice President Ömer Yıldız, Sanliurfa Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar, TÜİB President Hüseyin Büyükfırat, Samsat Mayor Halil Fırat, and numerous citizens.

Emphasis on Friendship and Culture

Sanliurfa Metropolitan Mayor Gülpınar stated that the event was organized to strengthen the friendship between Turkey and Azerbaijan, noting that the city has a 12,000-year history.

YEE Vice President Yıldız noted that the institute continues its mission to introduce Turkish culture to the world and that Baku holds an important place in the cultural life of the Turkic world.

Expressions of Gratitude and Flight Wishes

Samsat Mayor Fırat conveyed his thanks to the Azerbaijani delegation for withholding no assistance during the earthquake disaster.

TÜİB President Büyükfırat, on the other hand, expressed his wish for direct flights to be launched between the two cities.

History and Art Together

Within the scope of the event, a photography exhibition reflecting the historical values of Göbeklitepe, Karahantepe, and Sanliurfa was opened, and visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the local cuisine.

At the event, which featured concerts, folk dance performances, and a Sıra Gecesi program, students of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory and artists from the Sanliurfa Metropolitan Municipality took the stage.
