From modernized production lines and digitized management processes to automated irrigation applications, science, technology, and innovation are permeating the operations of businesses in Phu Tho province.

Technology directly creates products, reduces costs, increases productivity, and expands markets, forming a new driving force for growth.

Developments in 2025

The year 2025 stands out as an important milestone in the widespread adoption of science, technology, and innovation in the province.

While eighty-eight provincial-level science and technology projects were implemented across the province, two thousand two hundred and eighty-five businesses joined the VPTEX platform.

Innovation Index and Sectoral Focus

The Provincial Innovation Index reached forty-one point one points, ranking fifteenth nationwide and rising five places compared to the previous year.

In the June 2025 period, technological innovation projects were evaluated in strong sectors such as mechanical engineering and supporting industries.

Technological Transformation in Agriculture

The impact of technology in cooperative areas is clearly demonstrated by specific changes occurring in production organization.

V-Organik Organic Agriculture Cooperative invested in greenhouses and an automated irrigation system during the production process, and began using an electronic production logbook.

New Support Mechanisms

To encourage businesses to invest in technology, Phu Tho province will implement additional direct support mechanisms starting from the year 2026.

Decree number sixty-two, which entered into force on January 1, 2026, provides support for the technological innovations of small and medium-sized industrial enterprises.

Share of the Digital Economy

The scope of the applied support is limited to ten percent of the value of the innovative technology and will not exceed five hundred million Vietnamese dong per project.

During the first eight months of the year 2026, the digital economy is estimated to account for approximately twenty-three percent of the province's gross domestic product.
