SCT hike on petroleum products: Gasoline to approach 94 liras
Price increases driven by the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on petroleum groups are projected to take effect starting from the first day of October.
Starting October 1, 2026, substantial price hikes driven by the Special Consumption Tax are expected on petroleum products. In line with the upcoming regulation, significant increases are calculated for gasoline, diesel, and LPG prices.
Expected SCT Increases
According to information obtained from industry sources, the regulation will reflect price hikes of 12.47 TL per liter for gasoline, 3.60 TL for diesel, and 1.48 TL for LPG autogas.
The said SCT increases are expected to come into effect as of midnight connecting September 30 to October 1.
New Prices in Metropolitan Cities
Following the expected hikes, the liter price of gasoline, which is 80.40 TL on the European Side of Istanbul, will rise to 92.87 TL, and its price of 81.40 TL in Ankara will increase to 93.87 TL.
In Izmir, the liter price of gasoline, currently at the level of 81.70 TL, is projected to rise to 94.17 TL.
Diesel and LPG Developments
Along with the 3.60 TL SCT increase to be made on diesel, it is calculated that the liter price will reach 97.10 TL on the European Side of Istanbul, 98.20 TL in Ankara, and 98.50 TL in Izmir.
As for LPG autogas, there is a possibility of a new price hike following the 1.48 TL SCT increase that will come into effect on October 1.
