Share of Wind and Solar Energy Increased in Turkey's Electricity Generation
While a great momentum has been gained in wind and solar energy investments over the last decade, the total clean energy installed capacity has reached approximately 43,000 megawatts.
The share of solar energy in Turkey's electricity generation increased 28-fold between 2016 and 2026, reaching 11.6 percent. The share of wind energy also showed an increase over the same period, being recorded at 12.1 percent.

The share of solar energy in electricity generation rose to 11.6 percent with a 28-fold increase between the 2016 and 2026 period.
The share of wind energy in electricity generation increased from 5.7 percent a decade ago to 12.1 percent.
Installed Capacity and Ministry Statements
According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey's total installed electricity capacity reached 126,476 megawatts at the end of July.
The total installed capacity of solar and wind reached 42,865 megawatts, achieving a 33.8 percent share in the overall total.
Monthly Records and New Targets
Electricity generation from solar energy reached 5.37 billion kilowatt-hours in July, seeing the highest level of all time on a monthly basis.
Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated that this success will be carried to a further point with new targets to be announced at the COP31 summit to be held in Antalya.
