Foreign trade statistics shared by the Ministry of Trade revealed the capital city's export volume and sectoral distribution recorded in the first three quarters of the year.

According to data from the Ministry of Trade, Ankara's exports in the January-September period increased by 21.3 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 13 billion 847 million 342 thousand dollars.

Turkey-Wide and Capital Data

According to the data announced by the Ministry of Trade, Turkey's total exports in the January-September period increased by 5.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, rising to 210 billion 973 million dollars.

Ankara's Export Growth

Exports carried out from the capital also increased by 21.3 percent in the January-September period compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 13 billion 847 million 342 thousand dollars. In the same period of the last year, this figure was recorded as 11 billion 418 million 736 thousand dollars.

Countries with the Highest Exports

When the distribution of Ankara's exports by country is examined, the USA ranked first in the January-September period with a share of 1 billion 120 million 694 thousand dollars. This country was followed by China with 959 million 968 thousand dollars and Slovakia with 921 million 958 thousand dollars.

Slovakia was followed respectively by Ukraine with an export volume of 904 million 658 thousand dollars and Germany with 816 million 589 thousand dollars.

Top Sectors

In the capital's exports, the electrical and electronics sector took the lead with 1 billion 810 million 550 thousand dollars. This sector was followed by chemical substances and products with 1 billion 555 million 805 thousand dollars.

The automotive industry ranked with 1 billion 432 million 762 thousand dollars, machinery and parts with 1 billion 285 million 336 thousand dollars, and mining products with 1 billion 196 million 185 thousand dollars.

Sectors with the Highest Proportional Increase

The sector that increased its exports the most on a proportional basis in the January-September period was ornamental plants and products with an increase of 175.2 percent. This field was followed by hazelnut and products with 111.3 percent.

The hazelnut sector was followed respectively by electrical and electronics with an increase of 90.7 percent and the carpet sector with a rate of 67.2 percent.
