A new era has begun in the fuel market, and the sliding scale system has been abolished. In line with the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, Special Consumption Tax regulations were made on LPG and gasoline prices, and their reflections on pump prices have become clear.

End of the Sliding Scale System

The sliding scale system, which had been implemented in the fuel sector for a long time, has officially ended. The decision regarding the matter came into effect after being published in the Official Gazette, and changes were made in the fuel pricing mechanism.

New Regulation on LPG Prices

For LPG type goods, the Special Consumption Tax amount previously applied per kilogram within the scope of the sliding scale system was raised to its former level prior to the system. Due to this Special Consumption Tax increase, an increase of approximately 1.48 liras is expected in the pump price of LPG autogas.

Gradual Transition Decision for Gasoline

As for gasoline, with the abolition of the sliding scale system, it was decided to implement a gradual transition to reduce market pressure instead of raising the Special Consumption Tax to its former level all at once. In this context, the Special Consumption Tax increase was distributed across the last three months of the year.

Special Consumption Tax Plan for Gasoline by Months

According to the new regulation, the Special Consumption Tax amount per liter of gasoline will be increased gradually in the months of October, November, and December. Thanks to this gradual transition, the first phase of the expected total increase has been reflected in the pump prices.
