Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır spoke at the Summit on Artificial Intelligence Security Integration and Economic Value in Institutions held at Bahçeşehir University. Kacır drew attention to the economic contributions of artificial intelligence and stated that technology must be shaped by the principles of justice and compassion.

The Economic and Strategic Role of Artificial Intelligence

Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that a comprehensive restructuring is taking place in every field, from production models to individual lifestyle practices. Stating that artificial intelligence is at the center of this profound revolution, Kacır conveyed that technology transforms data into strategic advantages.

Contribution of Artificial Intelligence to the Global Economy

Pointing out that artificial intelligence technologies provide foresight with the growing volume of data and computing capacity, Minister Kacır expressed that developments in this field could contribute up to $4.4 trillion to the world economy every year.

Risks of Technology and Moral Responsibility

Emphasizing that one must be careful against the risks brought by artificial intelligence alongside the economic value it offers, Kacır noted that its use in target determination in Gaza is clear proof of it turning into a tool of destruction.

Human Responsibility and Ethical Principles

Stating that no algorithm can eliminate human moral and legal responsibility, Minister Kacır stated that shaping technology for humanity with the principles of justice and compassion is a shared responsibility.

2026-2030 Artificial Intelligence Action Plan

Stating that Turkey has implemented the 2026-2030 Turkey Artificial Intelligence Action Plan, Minister Kacır announced that they have determined 16 actions along the axes of Notice, Benefit, Produce, and Manage.

Targets and Support Mechanisms

It is targeted to reach 5 million citizens in two years by establishing Artificial Intelligence Literacy Workshops in 81 cities by the Ministry. Additionally, mechanisms such as the KOSGEB Artificial Intelligence Credit Program and the National Artificial Intelligence Ethics Board are planned.
