Press Meeting Held
Hosted by Banks Association of Turkey President Alpaslan Çakar and with the participation of International Energy Agency President Fatih Birol, a press meeting titled Financing Transformation: Turkey on the Path to COP31 was held.
During this meeting, it was shared with the participants that the total loans extended to the energy sector have exceeded the threshold of 1 trillion Turkish Liras.
Developments in the Fund Market
Answering journalists' questions regarding the agenda at the meeting, TBB President Çakar stated that they do not expect recent developments in the fund market to negatively affect the banking sector.
Stating that the fund issue covers a very limited area and its numerical size is not very large, Çakar conveyed that this situation can be resolved in a short time.
Money Flow Within the System
Emphasizing that the money coming out of the market in question is directed directly to the banking sector and remains within the system, Alpaslan Çakar described the situation as an unpleasant event that will be resolved in a short time.
On the other hand, it was specifically emphasized that the CBRT's increase of the SME loan growth limit from 4.5 percent to 5 percent has no relation to the ongoing fund crisis.
