He stated that although the unemployment rate rose to 8.1 percent in July, it drew a picture consistent with the Medium-Term Program expectations and maintained its single-digit trend for 39 months.

Employment and Labour Force Participation Rates

It was stated that the number of employed persons across Turkey reached 32 million 362 thousand in the same period.

It was reported that the employment rate was 48.3 percent, the total labour force was 35 million 222 thousand people, and the labour force participation rate was 52.5 percent.

Policies to Combat Youth Unemployment

It was emphasized that efforts to reduce the youth unemployment rate, which stood at 14.5 percent among the youth population, will continue with determination.

It was noted that policies to facilitate the transition of young people into the labour market and strengthen the education-employment connection will continue to be implemented.

Efforts in Harmony with the Economic Management

Minister Işıkhan stated that they will continue to work in full harmony with the economic management.
