Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek evaluated the new macroprudential steps implemented by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey regarding SME loans and Turkish lira required reserves, stating that these regulations will facilitate access to finance.

New Ratios in SME Loans

With the new regulation made by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the growth limit applied to SME loans was increased from 4.5 percent to 5 percent.

Required Reserves Regulation

Within the framework of the steps implemented, a decrease was also realized in the blocking maintenance ratios applied for required reserves in terms of Turkish liras.

Liquidity and Access to Finance

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated that these steps will strengthen the liquidity management of the banking sector and facilitate SMEs' access to finance.

Disinflation Process and Targeted Approach

Stating that all implemented economic policies are shaped by meticulously observing the disinflation process, Minister Şimşek noted that the targeted and selective approach will be maintained with determination.
