Statements by Minister Gürlek on Fund Investigation and Repatriation Process

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that unjust gains are under scrutiny within the scope of the ongoing fund investigation, announcing that a total of 207 people have been processed and 85 suspects have been arrested. Judicial steps have been taken to bring back the funds transferred to Switzerland.

Initiation Process of the Investigation

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that movements in certain funds were noticed in February 2025, and the issue drew attention with intense complaints arriving in August 2026.

Measures Taken and Liquidation Decision

Reminding that a decision was made to liquidate the funds as of September 17, Minister Gürlek noted that all preventive measures were swiftly implemented following this decision.

Emphasizing that exorbitant gains were detected in the fund, Gürlek stated that necessary precautionary decisions have been taken regarding individuals and institutions engaging in manipulative movements.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

Within the framework of the comprehensive investigation conducted so far, it was announced that 85 suspects have been arrested and legal action has been taken against a total of 207 people.

Funds Sent to Switzerland

It was reported that official judicial proceedings have been initiated in order to return the money determined to have been sent to Switzerland within the scope of the investigation back to Turkey.

Emphasis on Market Confidence

Pointing out that the Turkish market and the Istanbul stock exchange must be protected, Minister Gürlek conveyed that they are working meticulously to ensure that well-intentioned investors and companies are not adversely affected by this process.

Account Refunds Through SDIF

Stating that an account refund has been opened within the body of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund, Gürlek expressed in his meeting with the SDIF President that 5 individuals have made refunds to these accounts.
