Evaluating recent developments in the fund markets, Minister Şimşek gave the message that the situation is under control regarding the markets and emphasized that the Turkish economy continues to grow.

Medium-Term Program and Budget Targets

Stating that the primary goal of the Medium-Term Program is to ensure price stability, Şimşek announced that defense expenditures will be increased by 229 percent in the 2027 budget.

Drawing attention to the challenges and conflicts in the global economy, Şimşek stated that Turkey prioritizes macrofinancial stability and displays a tight stance in fiscal policy.

Growth Locomotives and Indebtedness Ratios

Stating that the time has come for the Eastern Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia regions to become Turkey's new growth locomotives, Minister Şimşek shared details regarding economic planning.

Noting that Turkey is in an advantageous position compared to developing countries in terms of indebtedness ratios, Şimşek reported that the ratio of public debt to Gross Domestic Product is at the level of 22 percent.
