According to 13-week annualized and exchange rate-adjusted data, consumer loan growth, which peaked at 62.5 percent in January 2026, showed a decline by September.
Thirty-Two Month Low
As of September 4, 2026, consumer loan growth fell to 22.6 percent, reaching the lowest level recorded since January 2024.
Different Trajectory in Commercial Loans
In contrast, commercial loan growth followed a different trajectory and a volatile graph compared to consumer loans throughout the year.
Trough Observed in July
Commercial loan growth, which stood at 32.1 percent in January 2026, continued its decline, dropping to the lowest level of the year at 16.1 percent in July 2026.
Recovery Process in September
Following the trough in July, commercial loan growth entered an upward trend again, reaching 22.7 percent as of September 4.
Latest Balance Between Loans
With the latest data, commercial loan growth, which had long lagged behind consumer loan growth, slightly surpassed consumer loans at 22.7 percent compared to 22.6 percent.
