TOBB and Bank Officials Make Statements on Interest Rate Cuts and Loans

Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they welcomed the Central Bank's three-point interest rate cut and demanded that the banking sector quickly reflect this reduction in commercial loan interest rates.

Interest Rate Cut and Commercial Loan Demand

In his statement, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu reminded that the Central Bank recently made a 3-point reduction in interest rates.

Emphasizing that they see this step as a gratifying beginning to ease the financial burden on industrialists and merchants, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the banking sector must reflect this cut in commercial loans without wasting time.

Emphasis on Solutions from Ziraat Bank

Taking the floor at the meeting, Ziraat Bank General Manager Alpaslan Çakar stated that they will continue to facilitate financial life.

Çakar expressed that they will definitely provide solutions to everyone experiencing liquidity shortages or requesting restructuring, provided that their intentions are sincere and they have the ability to pay.

Statement on Field Operations from Halkbank

Halkbank General Manager Recep Süleyman Özdil drew attention to the importance of economic unity and the climate of brotherhood.

Özdil noted that as three public banks they will do what is required of them, and as Halkbank, they will further accelerate being out in the field across the region and all of Turkey.

Regional Financing Resource from Vakıfbank

Vakıfbank General Manager Osman Arslan announced that they have secured a 1.5 billion euro resource from the World Bank.

Arslan stated that a significant portion of this resource has been allocated to priority regions for development as well as women and young entrepreneurs, and it has begun to be rapidly allocated to Diyarbakır and the region.
