Speaking at the ACE BPSC 2026 Summit in Istanbul, hosted by the Turkish-American Businessmen Association and organized by the Ministry of Trade, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat made evaluations regarding Turkey's global position and foreign trade data.

Start of the Summit

The ACE BPSC 2026 Summit, hosted by the Turkish-American Businessmen Association and organized by the Ministry of Trade, began in Istanbul.

Speaking at the summit, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat drew attention to Turkey's global position in the fields of ports, logistics, maritime transport, highways, airways, tourism, and contracting.

Turkey and EU Trade

Minister Bolat stated that trade between Turkey and the European Union, which was at the level of 21 billion dollars in 1996, increased 11-fold over 30 years to reach 233 billion dollars.

Underlining that the European Union is Turkey's number one foreign trade partner, the Minister noted that these relations continue to grow stronger.

Economic Data

Stating that the total export of goods and services is 410 billion dollars, Bolat noted that the national income reached 1.7 trillion dollars as of July.

In line with these announced data, it was emphasized that Turkey is a country with 50 percent foreign trade openness.

Diplomacy and Customs Union

In addition to the commercial relations conducted with the European Union, the draft decisions of the European Commission were focused on.

Conveying that they are carrying out intensive diplomacy on the updating of the Customs Union, Minister Bolat reported that the works are ongoing.
