Trade Minister Bolat's Statement on the International Contracting Sector
Trade Minister Ömer Bolat drew attention to the magnitude of Turkey's foreign trade volume and international projects.
Speaking at the EIC General Assembly Program, Trade Minister Ömer Bolat announced that the international contracting sector has successfully completed 12,900 projects worth $570 billion across 139 countries.
The Share of Foreign Trade in the Economy
Trade Minister Ömer Bolat stated that total goods and service exports reached an annualized $409 billion as of September.
He emphasized that together with import figures, total foreign trade stands at $865 billion, which accounts for more than 50 percent of the national income.
Success of the International Contracting Sector
It was stated that the international contracting sector has successfully left behind a total of 12,900 projects in 139 countries today.
It was noted that the total economic size of the projects undertaken by the sector has reached a tender value of $570 billion.
Foreign Investors in Turkey
It was announced that there are a total of 89,000 foreign investment companies operating throughout Turkey.
The information was shared that European companies constitute a large proportion of these international companies, at 63 percent.
