Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek evaluated the August inflation figures and announced that annual inflation materialized at 31.5 percent.

Minister Şimşek emphasized that despite periodic education price increases and fuel prices affected by the war, the decline in inflation continues.

Decline in Core Goods and Rent Inflation

It was noted that core goods inflation retreated to 15.9 percent on an annual basis, which is the lowest level seen since November 2020.

Additionally, it was stated that annual rent inflation dropped to its lowest level in the last 46 months.

Price Stability and Structural Policies

It was reported that various steps were taken to limit the impact of global price shocks on inflation.

Minister Şimşek stated that they will continue to resolutely pursue structural policies in line with the goal of achieving permanent price stability.
