Turkey's 2025 International Service Trade Statistics Announced

According to the 2025 international service trade data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the country's service exports recorded an increase compared to the previous year. With the announced figures, the general performance of sectors, primarily travel and transportation, also became clear.

Export and Import Figures

According to the data announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the country's service exports stood at $117.3 billion in 2024, reaching $124.9 billion in 2025 with an increase of 6.5 percent.

In the same period, service imports increased by 9.6 percent, rising from $56.4 billion in 2024 to $61.9 billion.

Sectoral Distribution and Shares

According to the expanded balance of payments services classification, the share of travel services in total exports was 48 percent in 2024, rising to 48.1 percent in 2025.

While the share of transportation services, which ranked second, declined from 35.1 percent to 34.1 percent, exports in this item increased by 3.5 percent to reach $42 billion 571 million.

Exports of telecommunications, computer, and information services showed a significant increase of 25.3 percent in 2025, reaching the level of $6 billion 724 million.

Changes in Import Items

The share of the transportation sector in total service imports decreased from 38.1 percent in 2024 to 32 percent in 2025.

The share of other business services, ranking second, was recorded at 16.9 percent, while the travel services sector ranked third in imports with a share of 14.5 percent.

European Union and Regional Trade

In areas other than travel services, $25 billion 330 million in service exports were realized to European Union countries in 2025, while exports to other European countries amounted to $9 billion 259 million.

European Union countries continued to be the leading country group in Turkey's service exports and imports, excluding travel.

Trade Shares by Country

31 percent of total exports of services other than travel were realized with the USA, Germany, and the United Kingdom; the USA ranked first with a share of 12.9 percent.

In imports, Ireland took the first place with a share of 12.6 percent in 2025, followed by the United Kingdom and the USA, respectively.
