According to data shared by the Ministry of Trade, Turkey's exports rose by 8.1 percent in August 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching $23.5 billion. Significant growth was recorded in the eight-month period.

According to data announced by the Ministry of Trade, Turkey's exports increased by 8.1 percent in August 2026 compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching $23.5 billion. Economic activity on a provincial basis drew attention during this period.
January-August Total Exports
In the January-August period of 2026, Turkey's total exports registered an increase of 4 percent, with this figure realizing as $185 billion. Annualized exports rose by 4.2 percent to $280.3 billion.
Export Distribution by Provinces
During this period, exports increased in a total of 56 provinces. While 25 provinces achieved the success of exporting over $1 billion, 35 provinces signed off on double-digit records.
Top Five Provinces with Highest Exports
In the August 2026 period, based on activity provinces, the highest exports were realized respectively by Istanbul, Kocaeli, Izmir, Bursa, and Mersin. Istanbul ranked first with $5.503 billion.
Provinces with the Highest Increase in Exports
In the January-August period, Ankara led the provinces with the highest increase in exports, with an increase of $1.185 billion. Ankara was followed by Kocaeli, Bursa, Mersin, and Yalova.
