Turkey's Short-Term External Debt Stock Increased in July
According to Central Bank data, the short-term external debt stock increased in July, reaching $177.1 billion.
According to data announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the short-term external debt stock increased by 3.8 percent compared to the previous month, rising to $177.1 billion.
General Debt Situation
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey shared the short-term external debt statistics for July with the public. Accordingly, the short-term external debt stock increased by 3.8 percent in this period compared to the previous month.
Statistics by Remaining Maturity
The short-term external debt stock based on remaining maturity, which shows debts with a maturity of one year or less regardless of their original maturity, materialized at $248.1 billion in July.
Banks and Other Sectors
The short-term external debt stock originating from banks increased by 4.3 percent to $77.8 billion. The stock originating from other sectors rose by 3.6 percent, reaching the level of $74.7 billion.
Foreign Exchange Composition
When the foreign exchange composition of the short-term external debt stock in July is examined, 34.3 percent of the debt consisted of US dollars, 26.5 percent of euros, 26 percent of Turkish liras, and 13.2 percent of other foreign currencies.
