Turkey's tomato exports exceeded 304 million dollars in the January-September period
While tomatoes were sold to forty-nine countries in the first nine months of the year, Romania was recorded as the country with the highest exports.
Turkey's tomato exports in the January-September period of 2026 increased by 4.19 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 304 million 171 thousand dollars.
Export Figures and Market Distribution
According to data from the Southeastern Anatolia Exporters' Associations, Turkey made tomato sales to a total of 49 different countries in the first 9 months of 2026.
While the total revenue generated in this period reached 304 million 171 thousand dollars, sector officials focused on year-end targets.
Countries with the Highest Exports
Romania, which ranked first in Turkey's tomato exports, maintained its feature of being the largest market in this period.
Romania was followed respectively by Russia and Bulgaria, ranking among the other major markets where the most exports were made.
Sector Representative's Year-End Evaluation
Greenhouse Investors and Producers Association Vice President Murat Yılmaz emphasized that the increase is of great importance for the country's economy.
Yılmaz stated that with a stable pace to be achieved in the last quarter of the year, last year's total export level can be easily surpassed.
Added Value and New Market Targets
The increase in export value per kilogram proved that Turkish tomatoes find buyers at higher prices in international markets.
Sector representatives aim to create permanent markets in alternative regions such as the Far East, the Middle East, and North America, alongside Europe.
