Turkish Airlines carries 64 million passengers in the eight-month period
According to the company's statement to the Public Disclosure Platform, the number of aircraft and destinations increased, while the total load factor also rose.
Turkish Airlines announced that the number of passengers it carried in the January-August period increased by 5.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 64 million.
Increase in Passenger Numbers
In the statement made by Turkish Airlines, it was stated that the total number of passengers increased by 5.4 percent in the January-August period compared to the same period of the previous year.
During this period, international passenger numbers reached 41.8 million with a 6.1 percent increase, while domestic passenger numbers rose by 4.3 percent to stand at 22.2 million.
Load Factors and Fleet Development
The total passenger load factor, which was 82.7 percent in the same period of the previous year, rose to 84.7 percent.
The international load factor was recorded at 84.5 percent, while the domestic load factor was recorded at 86.5 percent.
Number of Aircraft and Destinations
The number of destinations flown by the company increased from 353 to 358 in the January-August period.
In the same period, the number of aircraft increased by 13 percent, rising from 501 to 566.
August Results
The number of passengers carried by the company in August increased by 5.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 10 million.
In August, international passenger numbers rose to 6.4 million, and domestic passenger numbers rose to 3.6 million.
