Turkish Economy Records 2.3 Percent Growth in the Second Quarter of 2026
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Turkish economy grew by 2.3 percent in the second quarter of 2026, bringing its uninterrupted growth streak to 24 quarters.
According to the second-quarter Gross Domestic Product results for 2026 announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Turkish economy grew by 2.3 percent in the April-June period compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Sectoral Growth and Change Rates
When activities are analyzed, the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector stood out with a 13.3 percent increase, while the construction sector recorded a 1.9 percent decrease.
GDP Value at Current Prices
The Gross Domestic Product estimate by production method increased by 36.0 percent at current prices, rising to 19 trillion 869 billion 747 million Turkish Liras.
Consumption and Foreign Trade Developments
While household final consumption expenditures increased by 3.5 percent according to the chained volume index, exports of goods and services decreased by 3.4 percent and imports decreased by 6.4 percent.
Labor Force Payments and Share Ratios
Labor force payments showed an annual increase of 36.7 percent in the second quarter of 2026, and the share of these payments within the Gross Value Added was 38.1 percent.
