Turkish Red Crescent Bill on the Agenda of the Parliament General Assembly
The regulation confirming the National Society status of the Turkish Red Crescent by law and allowing direct procurement without tenders in disasters is being brought to the Parliament's agenda.
The 9-article Turkish Red Crescent Bill, which envisages confirming the National Society status of the Turkish Red Crescent by law and initiating a period of procurement without tenders for the supply of strategic products, is coming to the agenda of the Parliament General Assembly.
Scope of the Bill
The duties, authorities, financial rights, and exemptions of the Turkish Red Crescent will be regulated for the first time by a separate law, and its National Society status will be legally secured.
Authority for Procurement Without Tenders
In disasters and emergencies, it is aimed to ensure the direct procurement of strategic products from Red Crescent affiliates without tenders, enabling critical materials and services to be acquired directly without wasting time.
International Aid and Authorities
With the regulation, the Red Crescent will be the sole authorized organization to accept aid coming to Turkey from the international Red Cross and Red Crescent network.
Personnel Rights and Guarantees
Cash compensation will be paid to personnel assigned to the region for Red Crescent activities during extraordinary periods as well as times of disaster, war, and conflict.
Digital Platform Regulations
The proposal regarding the activities of foreign digital accommodation platforms will be addressed in the committee, and a permit certificate will be mandatory for these platforms to operate in Turkey.
