The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will take up the new law proposal regulating the duties and powers of the Turkish Red Crescent Association this week, while important presentations and meetings will also be held in the economic field.

Turkish Red Crescent Law Proposal

On the weekly agenda of the General Assembly is a legislative proposal regulating the rights and exemptions of the Turkish Red Crescent Association to enable it to carry out its activities more effectively.

With the regulation, the Red Crescent will be the sole authorized institution in receiving and utilizing in-kind and financial aid coming from foreign countries in ordinary or extraordinary circumstances.

Personnel and Foundation Regulations

It is envisaged to pay financial compensation to personnel working in the operation zone during disasters, wars, and periods of conflict.

Red Crescent branch presidents will serve as members of the board of trustees of the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation in their respective locations.

Central Bank Presentation

Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, will make a presentation at the Planning and Budget Commission on October 6.

Global developments, the Turkish economy, inflation, and monetary policy issues are expected to be addressed at the meeting.

Commission and Group Meetings

The Committee on Public Works, Reconstruction, Transportation and Tourism will convene to discuss the Legislative Proposal on Foreign Digital Accommodation Platforms.

Political parties with groups in Parliament will hold their group meetings on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
