Turkish Statistical Institute Announced August Inflation Data
According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, consumer prices rose by 1.84 percent monthly and 31.51 percent annually in August.
The Turkish Statistical Institute shared the consumer and producer inflation rates for the August 2026 period with the public. According to the official data announced, the Consumer Price Index increased by 1.84 percent month-on-month and 31.51 percent on an annual basis in August.
Consumer Price Index Data
According to the figures announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Consumer Price Index recorded an increase of 1.84 percent in August compared to the previous month.
The annual increase, which stood at 31.51 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, was calculated at 31.79 percent based on 12-month averages.
Domestic Producer Price Index
The Domestic Producer Price Index data for the August 2026 period was also announced by TURKSTAT, clarifying the cost increases in the industrial sector.
Accordingly, the D-PPI increased by 2.57 percent in August compared to the previous month, by 27.95 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and by 27.76 percent based on 12-month averages.
September Rent Increase Rate
With the clarification of the inflation data, the legal rent increase rate to be applied for houses and workplaces in September has also been officially determined.
In line with the rate determined based on the 12-month averages of the CPI, the ceiling rent increase rate to be applied in September was recorded as 31.79 percent.
Economists' Expectation Survey
The results of the expectation survey conducted by AA Finance with the participation of 20 economists showed a high degree of consistency with the official figures.
In the survey, the average of economists' expectations for August monthly inflation was 1.86 percent, while their year-end expectations stood at 29.49 percent.
