Türkiye's Exports to Neighboring Countries Exceed $18.2 Billion
Turkey's exports to neighboring countries in the January-August period increased by 2.6% to over $18.2 billion.
According to data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Turkey's total exports to neighboring countries in the January-August period of this year rose by 2.6% to surpass $18 billion 226 million, with 5 provinces standing out during this process.
General Export Figures
According to information compiled from Turkish Exporters Assembly data, Turkey's overall exports in the January-August period increased by 4% compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $185 billion.
Sales to Neighboring Countries
During the same period, total exports to the 8 neighboring countries—consisting of Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Greece—increased by approximately $463.6 million compared to the same period last year.
Countries with the Highest Exports
In the January-August period, Iraq was the destination with the highest exports among neighboring countries at $5 billion 758 million, followed by Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Syria, Iran, and Azerbaijan.
Prominent Export Sectors
During the period in question, the chemicals and products sector came to the forefront in exports to neighboring countries, followed by the cereals, pulses, oilseeds, and the ferrous and non-ferrous metals sectors.
Top Five Exporting Provinces
In Turkey's exports to neighboring countries, Istanbul, Gaziantep, Ankara, Kocaeli, and Mersin stood out as the top five provinces with the highest foreign sales, and the total exports of these provinces exceeded $11.6 billion.
