Two-Week Downward Trend in CBRT Total Reserves
Total reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey continued their decline with the decrease experienced in the first week of September.
Total reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) decreased by approximately $4.4 billion in the week ending September 4, 2026, falling to $183.8 billion.
Latest Weekly Reserve Data
According to Matriks News' calculations based on CBRT data, total reserves, which were at the level of $188.2 billion in the week of August 28, dropped to $183.8 billion in the week ending September 4.
Peak and Fluctuations Throughout the Year
Total reserves followed a volatile course after hitting a historic peak of $218.2 billion in the week of January 30, 2026, and registered a sharp decline in March.
Reserves, which dropped to as low as $149.2 billion in the last week of June, had shown a tendency to recover starting from July.
Level Remaining Below the Peak
Reserves, which continued to increase in August and reached $188.4 billion in the week of August 21, experienced back-to-back declines in the last two weeks, remaining $34.4 billion below their historic peak in January.
