Vietnam Economy Records Growth of Over Nine Percent in First Nine Months

Socio-economic data for the third quarter and the first nine months of 2026 in Vietnam have been announced. According to statistics, gross domestic product increased by 9.01% in the first nine months of the year, while inflation and sectoral growth rates also gained momentum.

GDP Data for the First Nine Months of the Year

It is estimated that gross domestic product in the first nine months of 2026 will increase by 9.01% compared to the same period of last year.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong, Director of the Statistics Department of the Ministry of Finance, stated that the domestic economy has maintained its strong growth momentum.

Quarterly Growth Performance

GDP growth in the third quarter is projected to be 9.95% compared to the same period last year.

This rate has surpassed the growth rates of 8.15% in the first quarter and 8.81% in the second quarter.

Sectoral Contributions and Developments

The agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sector increased by 4.02%, contributing 5.35% to overall growth.

The industry and construction sector became the largest contributor to economic growth with an increase of 11.21%.

Inflation and CPI Rates

According to data from the General Statistics Office, the average Consumer Price Index in the first nine months of the year recorded an increase of 4.52%.

In September, the CPI rose by 0.62% under the influence of upward adjustments in domestic fuel prices.
