Yeni Parti's Evaluation Report on the 2027-2029 MTP Period
Yeni Parti's Economy Coordination Council shared its critical report regarding the new term Medium-Term Program with the public.
Yeni Parti's Economy Coordination Council published a comprehensive evaluation report on the Medium-Term Program covering the years 2027-2029, criticizing the contradictions and targets within the program.
Forecast Discrepancy Between the Central Bank and MTP
The report stated that despite the Central Bank announcing an inflation forecast of 15 percent for the end of 2027, the Medium-Term Program projects this rate at 21 percent. It was argued that this six-point difference between the two institutions clearly demonstrates a lack of communication among institutions.
Employment Data and Unemployment Rates
It was recalled that the net employment increase projected between the years 2025 and 2026 is only 13 thousand people. It was stated that the drop in the unemployment rate stems primarily from citizens giving up on looking for work.
Contradiction Between Interest and Investment in Budget Balance
In the data regarding the budget balance, it was conveyed that capital expenditures in 2027 will be 1 trillion 852 billion liras. Calculating that interest expenses will be 3 trillion 975 billion liras, it was noted that for every single lira the state allocates to investment, it will pay more than two liras in interest.
Tax Distribution and Income Justice Targets
Attention was drawn to the fact that 60 percent of tax revenues are collected from indirect taxes. Furthermore, it was emphasized that there are no numerical targets within the Medium-Term Program regarding income distribution.
Position of the Agricultural Sector and the Party's Proposals
It was argued that the agricultural sector is treated merely as an inflation item rather than ensuring supply security. It was committed that under a Yeni Parti government, a justified report will be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in the event of a deviation from MTP targets.
