In the incident that occurred on the evening of September 20 in Yenişehir Neighborhood of Hatay's Payas district, an argument broke out for an undetermined reason between 54-year-old K.Ç., who was in the process of divorcing, and his 47-year-old wife Emine Çil.
Upon the escalation of the argument, K.Ç. fired at Emine Çil, a mother of two, with the pump-action shotgun he had with him. As a result of the attack, Çil lost her life at the scene.
Capture of the Suspect and Judicial Process
Following the gunshots and upon the notification of citizens in the surrounding area, numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene and security measures were taken.
As a result of the rapid work of the police teams, the suspect K.Ç. was captured in a short time along with the weapon used as the instrument of the crime and was detained.
It was learned that the suspect, who stated in his initial statement at the police station that he committed the incident by getting angry while arguing with his wife, was referred to the courthouse wearing a bulletproof vest after his procedures.

It drew attention that Emine Çil, who lost her life, made posts on her social media account approximately 2 hours before the tragic incident.
It was observed that in one of her posts, Çil touched upon human life through flowers, mentioning the places where they bloom and wither, and in her other post, she expressed that she came from scratch and had no fear.
