In the investigation regarding the 11-month-old baby who has been searched for 3 days in the Divriği district of Sivas, the mother changed her initial statement and claimed that the baby was killed by her father. Meanwhile, President Erdoğan attended the academic year opening ceremony at Gazi Anadolu High School in Ankara and made statements.
Missing Baby Incident in Sivas Divriği
E.B., who is engaged in livestock breeding in a rural area of Sivas's Divriği district, called the gendarmerie to report that their 11-month-old baby Büşra was missing. Following the notice, extensive search operations were launched in the region by AFAD and gendarmerie teams.
The Mother Changing Her Statement
Mother E.B., who initially claimed in her first statement that the baby was sold, changed her testimony during the investigation process. The mother claimed that the 11-month-old baby was killed and buried by her father.
Investigation and Search Operations
An investigation is being conducted into a total of 9 people, including the father Y.B., who was detained following the mother's contradictory statements. The baby's body has not yet been reached in the search operations in the region, which also involved cadaver dogs.
Opening of the New Academic Year
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 2026-2027 Academic Year Opening and Mass Opening Ceremony of Completed Educational Investments in Ankara, held at Gazi Anadolu High School.

Wishing that the new academic year would be auspicious, Erdoğan stated that they allocated the largest share of the budget to education. He also emphasized that, according to PISA 2025 results, Turkey was the OECD country that increased its score the most.
