New Turkish Record for Single Vessel Call at Asyaport Port

Operating in Tekirdağ, Asyaport Port signed a new Turkish record in a single vessel call with the handling amount of 22,896 TEU containers it performed on the docked MSC Maya vessel.

Turkish Record Broken

Asyaport Port, located in Tekirdağ, achieved a significant milestone in the maritime sector by reaching the highest container handling volume carried out in a single vessel call.

Operation on MSC Maya Vessel

A total of 22,896 TEU containers were successfully handled on the giant vessel named MSC Maya, which docked at the port, and a new record was achieved.

Previous Record Improved

Asyaport Planning and Technical Services Manager Besim Dönmez reminded that the previous Turkish record also belonged to them and announced that approximately 6,000 more TEU containers were handled in the latest operation.

Capacity Increase Investments

The second-phase extension investment that started at Asyaport in 2022 is planned to be completed in November 2026, and through this, the total berthing area of the port will reach 2,800 meters.

World's Largest Vessels

Thanks to the new infrastructure works, it is targeted that three of the world's longest container vessels will be able to easily dock at the port simultaneously.

4 Million TEU Target

While the port is preparing to increase its current annual handling capacity of 2.5 million TEU to 4 million TEU, the number of large ship-to-shore cranes has also been raised to 15.

Regional Hub Port

Planned as a regional hub port since its establishment, Asyaport continues to increase its strength in the region with ongoing investments.

Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean Vision

Emphasizing that the investments will contribute to service exports, foreign currency revenue, and employment, Besim Dönmez stated that the ultimate goal is to become the largest single port in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean.
